Go Johnny Go!!!
That's not just any Johnny in the picture strumming away. That's John Eccleston. I'm so glad he stuck around for a set. On his way out he left a few of his CD's. I had a listen today. He is quite a good songwriter. It definately comes from the heart with this guy. He originally comes from Sudbury, Ontario (so do I). Another thing we share in common is that we both loved Johnny Cash. He wrote a song called "The Day Johnny Cash Died". I quite like it. If you ever come accross FARM or OTHER LIES by John Eccleston, check him out. Terry, Gord, Sue, Ray, the whole Thursday gang was there. It turned out to be quite a good night...Check out the audio post....the adventure continues....

Slippery Snowy Roads
Saturday night at Spezzo was surprisingly busy considering the roads were not the best. There were more than a few cars slipping and sliding in the snow along Hwy 404 on my way to perform. The night went by without anything out of the ordinary happening. I was very happy to meet the people from Edmonton, Halifax and Vancouver. They made my night so I wanted them to be part of my evening's post. I am not showing their picture, however, I did record them on the above audio clip. Two of them didn't know what a blog was so when they sign on to hear the clip they will have had their first blog experience. I'm glad. I wish them well...brrrrr.....it's cold out there....the adventure continues....

Strike The Pose
A crazy night at Spezzo with Francesco, Jason (Happy Birthday), Kelly, Sandra, and the ROYALTY at the bar. Peter, the Greek waiter, impresses everyone. Melissa does a fine job bartending. The first date people are actually on their 2nd date. I had a great time. The picture to the right is a posed one with Alex and me at the very end of the night. She sang a heart felt version of "No Woman No Cry". Alex has a very distinctive voice.....the adventure continues......

Dr. Octopus
15 year old Jesse is playing a ripping guitar solo, and allowing me to play some bass. It was a pleasure meeting him and his father Joe last night at the Wolf & Firkin...next stop SPEZZO in Richmond Hill....the adventure continues...
Did I Lose Dan Sibley's Interview?
I hope I didn't lose Chistopher Hollow inteviewing Canadian Squash Professional, Dan Sibley. It still might pop up in a few hours or so. Either way I will post his picture. It was good to meet father and son team, Joe and Jesse, last night. You guys have some good original tunes happening. Thanks Justin, for coming up to play as well. Alicia was tending bar, and Sault Ste Marie Joe hung out (great conversation Joe) . A very nice group last night at the Wolf & Firkin. Thanks!

ILYAN
As I was setting up my equipment last night at the Hockley Valley Resort. I let a bunch of kids play around with my guitar. When it was time for me to start performing, a 14 year old young man came up and asked if he could play my guitar. He took it and began to play. His name is Ilyan. Remember that name because he plays great, for any age. I was impressed, as are the kids gathering around him. The guitar behind the head surprised me. I had to take the pic.....the adventure continues....

Hallmark Augblog
The four people in the photogragh above are from 4 different parts of the world. James is from Ireland, Greg is from Toronto, Yanet is from Ethiopia and Eun-Kyung is from Korea. The reason why I have them placed in a Hallmark Card is because they were the energy that lifted my night up a notch...BAM!

Bert is Richard-Richard Is Bert
I would frequently perform at a pub called Rosie McGee in Oakville. It was there I met a young man named Bert. I didn't know it was Bert because I forgot his name the second time I saw him. I then began receiving emails from Bert because we would exchange pictures from all the Rosie gigs. That's why I thought that this guy has definately got to be Bert. The thing is, the guy I thought was Bert was actually Richard. The reason I thought he was Bert was because he was the outspoken one of the group. Bert's (the real Bert) girlfriend Nicole looked a little disappointed when I explained this. The bottom line is that I'm really glad they showed up last night at the Devil's Harp. Just to add further confusion, I notice on the audio clip that I mention that we are at The Devil's Advocate (another Toronto Pub)....mmmm.....maybe mid life creeping in on me..perhaps I should go pay a visit to my therapist Bert...the adventure continues.......
Invisible Hilarious Or Not So Hilarious Lost Post
I really can't describe yesterday evening at The Devil's Harp. It had many hilarious moments that wouldn't be funny without the nuanced madness of the audio clip. Some of the people I spoke with were uncomfortable having their picture taken so I decided that I wouldn't take any at all, a night off so to speak. When I got home the audio clip was mysteriously missing. It did not make it to my blog (I might have pressed the wrong button to send). No, it wasn't like this was lost art that can't be captured again. I sometimes get home and listen to a clip to find that it wasn't as funny or effective. It's a zero deal. What matters is the process. I like the process of having a recorded conversation with people I just met in a pub. I always assume that it has no value to anyone but me. I even like the hyper distorted sound of an excited voice overloading the phone. I just find it interesting that the one night I choose to not take any pictures (actually the only night since I started blogging) is the night that my audio malfunctions, and it also is the night where I really don't know how to put into words what had transpired. I will take the coward's route and reveal nothing. Somehow it means more that way. In fact I'm glad I wrote about it. On that note this is AUGBLOG signing off.

Jammin' With Mr. Bill
The thing is that I was cooped up in my studio all day and I noticed an old Bill Cosby CD. The classic "i started out as a child" so I decided that I wanted to jam with it. The way I first learned how to play the guitar was to sit down and start jamming with the records. At first there were too many wrong notes but as time progressed I got the hang of it. I decided that I would put my headphones on and jam with Bill into an audio clip. Go ahead heckle me! I'm looking forward to playing at The Devil's Harp tomorrow night when the adventure continues......
